The aim of any training camp is to test equipment and, most importantly, to bond the team.
Often, the location is new to all, away from distraction. For some, it represents the first time away from home.
Work ethic becomes immediately apparent. That dependence upon colleagues known collectively as teamwork takes longer to grow.
Many of the new team-mates may know each other by reputation, but never previously have shared the same tarmac, or ridden in the same colours. Respect among the riders is earned and learned.
For many in this new crop of Vitus Pro Cycling Team riders, the season will represent a step into the senior ranks and into races against world class riders.
Our training camp allowed the team's first cohort to meet each other, the staff and management, and to share in a process that will ultimately bond the team.
